Week two at day care

Cara's sleep patters were off over the weekend and into the early week, so I was getting up several times a night and then getting up early to get the two of us ready for our day. Quite a feat when you are trying to get to work on time!

Last night Cara was back to her regular sleep schedule - I am crossing my fingers that she has back on this schedule for awhile!

Cara still seems to like day care. They have her playing on an activity mat and sitting in a bouncy chair so she can smile at all the other babies. She already learned to roll on to her side and looks like she could be ready to roll over - though I doubt she will be too eager to go all the way given that she doesn't like being on her stomach!

Cara was baptized on Sunday at St. Agatha's Parish in Milton. Aunt Anne and Uncle Tim were her godparents. She wore the gown worn by her dad and aunts and uncles. She behaved very well and was quite funny during the service - she let out some yells and a loud burp!

After the service ended she had a meltdown for picture time! I think it is because we had to wake her up to get her into her gown and get her to the service. I now understand what they mean when they say..."don't wake a sleeping baby."

My mom came to help Michael and I prepare (as well as to visit Cara!) for a get together at our house after the service.

Overall, it went well. Although events on Sunday are dangerous when you have a 3 month old and are going to work on Monday!

Cara's first week at "school"

Well, we made it through our first week at work and day care. Cara actually did very, very well. She loves the colors, activity and other children at day care. Not to mention her teachers - I give these women credit - what a tough job! I was so surprised how well Cara slept amidst all the activity. Those women have the magic touch.

I am back at work and trying to figure out where I can be of the most help after three months away.

We are preparing for Cara's christening today. Grandma Dicob is heading to Boston to be here as well. We will post pictures next week!

February Videos

Here are a couple videos of Cara this month. She received a new toy from Randy, she seems to like it!

Daddy and Cara gave mommy some beautiful roses...enough for two arrangements. Red from dad and pink from Cara.

Bath!!!

Cara absolutely adores her bath. She is so absolutely happy in that warm water. We have taken to giving her a bath each night around 7:30/8pm as it seems to help her relax for her evening feeding and bed time to follow.

Over the last couple weeks, this seems to help establish a bit more of a nighttime routine. She goes to bed around 8/8:30pm and then awakens around 1:30 for a feeding and again around 5am/6am. She usually goes down for another hour at that point. At least this gives us some time for chunks of sleep.

We hope this continues...cross your fingers for us ;)

Cara has really been coming into her own over the last couple weeks. Cara is very, very alert. It scares me! She is going to be full of it! She is now totally aware of both hands and loves to chew on them more than ever. She can also play with a soft toy by herself. She is able to hold it and bring it to her mouth to do her favorite things - lick and chew! She is also very strong. She is able to kick right over the side of her changing table, I have a feeling she is going to be making a run for it soon. In addition, I can tell she wants to be able to sit up on her own. She tries to sit up using the muscles in her mid-section, but obviously she doesn't have that down yet!

Cara made trips to both PwC and Harvard in order to meet our coworkers. We also made a visit to Cara's day care, Hugs Plus. That was fun. It was a bit of a reality check for me though. I am going back to work on February 17th. I will be very sad, but I know Cara will be well taken care of. She seemed very interested in all the colors and things going on at day care.

Tummy Time

Fortunately, I was able to catch her in the first few seconds of tummy time, so she doesn't look as frustrated as she did a few seconds later!

Things are pretty good this week. Although, Cara has taken to waking up a couple times at night again (rather than just one time per night). Regression is the worst! I'm hoping she cures herself of this soon!
