Cara has really been into locking her legs and standing over the past week. As you can see, it is so cute.

Andrew and I think she looks a lot like Momma in this picture, but Michael doesn't quite see it. Some pictures she looks just like me and others you can see more of Michael. I guess she will just be 'all Cara.'

Cara is also 'talking' a lot these days. When she is on her changing table, she loves to practice her voice skills. It is best if someone has a 'conversation' with her. She is almost kicking off the changing table, so we have to watch her close!

Peggy's visit

Aunt Peggy came for a visit from Florida this weekend. We were lucky to be able to attend a brunch at Matt and Eileen's. Most of the cousins and babies were there so it made for a fun Saturday afternoon. Cara loves all the activity - it also gives her a chance to be held all day, which she never seems to complain about.

Aunt Neely's visit

Cara has been standing and locking her legs the last couple days. She really loves it - gives her an entirely new perspective on the world I think.

We are headed over to a brunch at Michael's Uncle Matt and Aunt Eileen's house. They have invited all their children and us as well. They are hosting for Michael's Aunt Peggy who hasn't seen many of the new babies since she lives in Florida.

Off to enjoy the sunny, spring day!

Crazy week - first tooth?

So, it was a crazy week. I was very busy at work - it's going to be a busy few months I think. We are still adjusting to the schedule - some days are easier than others.

So, it looks like Cara has a tooth breaking through on the top. I really didn't expect teeth this early - and especially not on the top, they usually come on the bottom. We are going for her regular doctor appointment tomorrow, so I will have them check her out. I think this might explain why she has been waking up a little fussy during the night. Poor thing.

Aunt Anne, with the assistance of Aunt Sarah, watched Cara last night while I went out to dinner with some friends. I had these plans for a couple months, but Michael had to work at the last minute. Working until 10pm on a Saturday night is not cool. Thankfully, Anne and Sarah helped. Unfortunately Cara wasn't being too easy - I guess we chalk it up to the tooth.

We booked a trip to California for mid-April. Michael's friend Rob and his family live out there - so we are going to visit and make a little vacation out of it. Should be a good opportunity for pictures and a little bit warmer weather.

Trying to prepare for another busy week. It's a good thing I don't have too much time to think about the week ahead, otherwise I think I would be overwhelmed!

St. Patrick's Day Parade - South Boston

Cara attended her first St. Patrick's Day parade in South Boston today. We spent some time at Uncle Tim's, Aunt Ellen's and with Randy and crew. There were so many noises, sights and smells, her little senses must have been on overload!

It is also Cara's 4 month birthday today. Her little personality is coming on strong. She focuses on people as they come in to the room and talk to them - she looks from their eyes to their mouth as they talk. Also, when she sees herself in the mirror, she is bashful and buries her head in my shoulder. All interesting elements of a budding personality!

She is hitting her 4 month wakeful period as she starts to become more aware of her surroundings. She tends to wake up around 4:30 and we have a difficult time getting her back to sleep, she would rather hang out with mom and dad! There is too much to learn about to spend time sleeping!

Laughing!

I was able to capture one of Cara's first extended laughs. Baby laughs are just too cute! Momma must have missed her calling as a stand up comedian!

More of Aunt Ellen's visit...

This was such a nice weekend in Boston. A weekend with temperatures around 60 cannot be beat after a long winter. (Especially when it's tough to get outside with an infant!) Cara went to Larry and Eileen's engagement party at a bar in downtown Boston. Prior to the party, we took her for a nice long walk around the city.

We took a few pictures this morning right after Cara woke up. I am trying to teach Michael, so I can be in a few pictures :)

Snow Day

Cara's day care was canceled today , so we had our first official snow day. This was probably a good thing because Michael was very sick yesterday and I had to take him to the emergency room last night. He was a pretty bad virus and it is slowly leaving his system. Cara was congested this weekend as well, so it was good to have an extra day so everyone can recuperate.

I put Cara in her exersaucer for the first time today. I had to pad it with blankets so she could sit up, but she really seems to like it. Lots of fun stuff to look at and grab.
