Cara has been able to remove the diaper venlcro for awhile, but it has become more popular these days. Which reminds me that I have to go wash diapers...fun!

Just to post Cara's stats from her 9 month appointment:
Height: 29 1/4 inches, 95th percentile
Weight: 21 lbs 7 oz., 90th percentile
Head: 18 inches, 90th percentile

When you are born big, you stay big for awhile... :)

Kiss face? Nope.

They are coming through

Why crawl when you can scoot?

Scooting really makes much more sense. You don't have to go through the trouble of getting on your hands and knees and then getting back up to play with your toys! Day care said Cara was getting around the room today, but it was every time they turned their back so they weren't exactly sure how she was doing it. So, I enticed her with good ol' Uno Attacks. Yup...it's scooting.

The crawl

Well, Cara has been thinking about crawling for awhile, but she finally actually did it tonight. For the past few weeks, he has been getting into the crawling position, thinks about moving forward, but then sits back down on her butt and hopes that someone will get her what she wants. Not a bad theory. Well, this evening, she decided to slide her hands and knees forward a bit. I wasn't sure that she was ever going to do it. I thought she would just scoot on her bottom or just go straight to walking. We will see if it happens again!

Four at Once!

I stand corrected, Miss Cara is getting 4 top teeth all at once. I mentioned the teeth coming into her teacher, Shannon earlier this week and when I came to pick Cara up, Shannon said that she saw that there were 4 coming through! Poor doll is a trooper and really has been taking it quite well. She is feeling a little out of it in the evenings and does moan some throughout the night. I hope it is over for her soon!

We're getting a top tooth

Cara was a tad feverish yesterday and a little off with naps and such. I should have suspected that something was happening! Poor girl. Can't be fun! She is getting so big, she won't be a baby for much longer....

Given the 90+ temperatures this weekend, we decided to take a trip to Humarock Beach in order to cool down. It was a lot cooler and the water was beautiful. Cara sat just so the waves could roll onto the shore over her legs. She also enjoys the sand, but wishes she could eat it!

Cara is starting to move around a bit more. She can get to crawling position - I would say she could crawl, but it is only backward and I don't think that counts. She is also standing by herself while holding on to furniture or toys for support. I can't sit next to her without her trying to pull up on me ALL the time!

She will be going for her 9 month appointment next week and I will add some height, weight then!

Cousins

It was such a hot day, that it was nice to sit in the air conditioning with family. Michael's cousins have tons of kids, so it was a lot of fun for Cara. She got to see Johnny, Ronin, Elizabeth and Colin!

Colin isn't too sure that he is impressed with Cara chewing on his block!

Tempuratues have been slowly rising in August - now they are unbearable - but they were perfect for a couple weeks. Cara has had some opportunity to use her little pool in our big backyard. We barely use our yard, so it was finally nice to do so. You can see that dad has spent some time in order to get some beautiful green grass!

We had a great weekend. It was a true summer weekend! Finally! We got Cara a little inflatable pool, so we were able to spend some time outside enjoying it. As I have mentioned before, Miss Crazy Legs loves to kick, kick, kick, so the little pool provides a great opportunity for the kicks to produce splashes!

We also went to the Family Mass at St. Agatha's on Sunday. It is kind of cool because they have a mass where they invite the families to come so that people feel a bit more comfortable if kids are chattering a bit. Cara absolutely loves the singing, she holds up her hands and yells, "Da, Da, Da, Da." She just loves being around people, so it is a great time for her. She was loving to check out all the little kids. Her dad was so proud because the priest stopped and said hello to the "Little Princess" as he was walking out of the church.

We also hung out with Aunt Jane and Uncle Paul. Aunt Jane and Uncle Paul helped babysit while the rest of us went out to dinner. Aunt Jane got Cara an Old McDonald hand puppet and Uncle Paul got her a Winnie the Pooh bear. Cara just LOVED both!

So, I took a bit of a break from posting given that we didn't have Internet access at Lake Bonaparte during our vacation in Upstate NY. It was a great week. Andrew and Neely came in from Bermuda and we were able to spend a lot of time with family in Upstate. Mom stayed with us at the cabin we rented on the lake. It was really nice and peaceful. We enjoyed not having cable and Internet - surprisingly!

Cara seemed to have a great time. She loved having tons of people around, so she was happy and smiling 99% of the time. When she is home alone with mom in the evenings, it isn't as exciting - probably because mom is tired from working all day. It was fun to see her 24/7 for over a week. I could really see her change a lot. She learned to clap and to flip from a sitting up position to a belly/crawling position. It's really hard to leave her a day care after all the time with her. Really hard. It does get easier, I remember from after the last vacation.

I have tons of pictures, so I will make sure to post some additional pics...
