Cara just loves watching people out the window - especially daddy.

Jackpot
Cara LOVES taking everything out of this makeup bag and setting it out on the toilet. It keeps her busy for awhile!
Another Christmas?
On the day after Christmas my Grandma Marianne, Uncle Andrew and Aunt Neely came to visit. So, we had another Christmas. By this time, Cara was a pro at opening presents. It was so classic. Each time she opened a present she would make this "ooooooooooooooooo" sound and put her mouth in the shape from the previous photo. Andrew was able to get it on video, it was perfect. She just kept doing it, even if we wrapped up something she already opened. So much fun!!
Christmas at the McDonnell's
Wow - Presents galore! Cara hit the jackpot at Grandma and Grandpa McDonnell's. They had a huge display of stuffed animals from the Rudolph cartoon, not to mention some fun Sesame Street characters. Cara was in heaven!
I received a great external flash for my camera.... making a shot like this possible. This shot probably wouldn't have turned out very well without it - the light would be just too low. I can't wait to be able to take even more pictures!!

Christmas Morning
Cara had fun on Christmas morning opening all her presents. She wasn't sure what to make of the talking Elmo at first, but she warmed up to him eventually. She definitely enjoyed ripping paper and opening boxes more than the toys that were inside the packages.
Christmas Eve at Uncle Matt's
Cara gad fun playing with her cousin's at Michael's Uncle Matt's home on Christmas Eve. As you can see, she is right in the thick of it with all the kids. I guess she isn't very shy! I loved the little skirt, tights and boots. Her dad went to Target this day to get some last minute Christmas gifts and came back with some Ugg type boots. He did a pretty good job - I didn't expect him to pick out shoes! I guess he is learning....
Smirk
Sometimes you just have to make a post because a picture is just so cute. Her bangs are getting long...time for some barrettes!
Hoping for some early presents
Cara enjoyed taking all the bows and tags off the packages before Christmas. The packages and Christmas tree were a very interesting addition to the living room. When it came to the tree, she would just point at the ornaments and say "BALL? ..... BALL? ...... BALL?" This is all done in a high pitched voice where her pitch goes up at the end of the word as if she is asking a question. So cute.
Snow
Cara had some fun in the snow just before Christmas. She was LOVING it. She was in her big snow suit that Grandma McDonnell got her for her birthday. She did fall down once in the snow and since I didn't have mittens on her (it didn't seem necessary since her hands were hidden way up the sleeve) she got snow on her hands. I took her inside to wipe off her hand and she was very upset to come inside. It was definitely much more interesting out in the snow.
Santa
We took Cara to the South Shore Plaza mall to see Santa. She did pretty well, but she wouldn't smile. The pictures are kind of funny because she had that 'unsure' look that she gives for the first few minutes of dealing with a new situation. She did look cute in her pink dress and pink bow.
More Birthday
Cara received a flamingo from Florida and such a pretty card. I got this great picture of Michael and Cara. She really is a daddy's girl. Her favorite words are "ball" and "dada."
Walking
Well, I took a break from blogging. Guess I just got lazy after my first year of blogging. I really wanted to put a lot of effort into year one because I wanted to make a hard cover book as a baby book. Well, I guess it's time to catch up. The week of Cara's first birthday she began walking consistently. So, no more of her half crawl. She's been on her feet and running ever since!
